Banotek is supported by a number of good and experienced contractors who work well together. The team was accommodating when we made our inspections and would talk us through what they were doing which was reassuring. They were also accommodating when we made changes during the construction process and also provided us with ideas and recommendations on how best to bring some of our ideas to life.

During construction, we had some water ingress in our new windows during some severe storms. Jackson was quick to work with the supplier to ensure that it was rectified quickly and satisfactorily. We engaged Banotek to demolish the rear half of our house and build a contemporary 2 storey extension. Early on, Neal visited our site and worked with us and our architect to understand our needs and provide us with a quote. We appreciated the time he took with us in talking through costings and being flexible about potential changes to our plans in order to meet our budget. Neal bent over backwards in helping us deal with some unforeseen challenges that we faced during our project, which was critical in getting our project across the line.

We always found Banotek to be very fair with costs, with any variations and costs agreed up front. The team had a good eye for detail, and worked with good subcontractors and partners, which resulted in high quality workmanship.

“Professional after sales service”

My wife and I embarked on a renovation for a house in Rose Bay. Thinking (incorrectly) that this was a minor renovation, we commissioned a design firm to create the plans and also appointed a certifier to do this "small" renovation as a complying development.

 

We posted a listing on Hi Pages and received three responses. Although not lowest cost offer, we chose Banotek for a number of reasons:

• We felt comfortable with our ability to communicate with Neal who was very patient with us and our minimal preparedness for a project that was a total rebuild of an old two bedroom cottage. We met a few times before committing to Banotek and during these meetings Neal provided sound practical advice.

• We also assumed (correctly as it turned out) that, as Banotek was a multi-project builder, it would be possible trades to be moved swiftly from other sites if something needed scheduling at our property.

• In our discussions prior to signing with Banotek, Neal had claimed that all his projects were finished ahead of schedule. We took this with a "grain of salt" but were very pleased when the job finished four weeks ahead of the scheduled duration of 4 and 1/2 months. A major contributing factor to this was due to the supervision of their on-site foreman, who was efficient in the scheduling of trades and always quick to reject substandard or sloppy work. He took great pride in the job and also insisted on keeping a very clean, tidy site.

 

No building project proceeds without a few hiccups, especially when clients are less than fully prepared. Neal handled the extras in a fair manner. I recall asking him before signing whether his "after-sales" service was as good as his "pre-sales" assistance. Neal commented that Banotek always comes back to assist clients with rectification work well after job completion. This was visibly the case for some of his other clients when we had the severe rain in Sydney earlier in 2020. In our case, Tracy and Neal arranged for trades to return to rectify a couple of minor issues months after completion.

 We are pleased with the job and have no hesitation in recommending Banotek.

After receiving several quotes, our hands down choice was Neal Bannister. It wasn’t the cheapest quote, but the most detailed, and we felt great confidence in Neal’s ability to deliver what was in the contract. Jackson Bannister and his team of subcontractors were fantastic throughout. They always communicated very clearly any issues, decisions or changes that needed to be made.

We were extremely happy with the quality of all the work, including new ceilings to hide services, joinery on the shed and indoors, masonry and rendering, accommodation installation of air conditioning, plumbing, tiling and electrical work. We had chosen the skylight, door/window, air conditioning and LED lighting specialists. All communication (measuring, installation, scheduling) between these companies and builders was handled smoothly and without problems.

The tight site meant using the neighbours yard as a staging area carting everything in and out via a narrow dunny lane. They managed all communication with the neighbours, which was extremely important to us and our ongoing relationships with them.

Any additional costs or changes to the agreement were clearly articulated and fairly worked out. The time frame was kept to exactly the schedule of building and subs was expertly managed. Post project followups were all addressed without issue or any unreasonable costs.

We are extremely happy with the end result and would be very happy to recommend Banotek.

Haberfield project was complicated both in terms of planning and structural issues. Plus Heritage restrictions and the Council that was marginally cooperative. We met Neal in March 2016. We were living in London at that time but we're making plans to return to Sydney for good by the end of 2016 and wanted to engage a builder to start our home renovation in early 2017. Neal presented us with a favourable quote and we signed a contract in April 2016 with a starting date in February 2017  and a 10% deposit. True to his contract,  work started on our renovation on time. Neal was always punctual in attending our meetings and happy to oblige and comply. Neal also has a remarkable team behind him. Our foreman Sam was always pleasant and things ran smoothly . 

Our renovation finished on time and even now a year after completion we have had no problem getting a couple of minor issues sorted out. We are happy to recommend Neal and his competent team. We are certainly very pleased with our renovation.

I bought my house over 30 years ago and only had a few upgrades. So I started out with a lot of uncertainty because to me this was a big project. From the start Neal showed a lot of competence and a very business like attitude. It was obvious that he had done this sort of work (under pinning) before. This gave me a lot of confidence and from the Hi Pages web sites there were also a lot of good reviews. 

True to his word he followed up with quotes and likely time line which I accepted. Neal keep me informed right up till the start (beating his estimated start) and generally on hand whenever I called. A very positive experience. To start the project I had a clear idea of timelines and costs. As you would expect there were modifications and these were handled in the same business like manner. I had full payment schedule which was very helpful as I need to juggle finances a bit.

Neal Bannister from Banotek undertook a major underpinning job at our historic sandstone cottage on Sydney's Western foreshore. From my first enquiry Neal was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He promptly provided a free site visit, evaluation of work required and quotation for the full scope of works. He also organised the specific engineering plans working closely with the engineer to provide the best solution.

Neal worked within the tight time frame that we required and the job went exactly to plan. Being off shore the project had significant logistical challenges including moving hundreds of bags of concrete on and off a barge, and navigating the movement of said materials off a beach and quite a distance including a difficult slope. The whole job was undertaken very efficiently and without any fuss or unforeseen issues. The team were courteous and professional working very hard to do the job required within the time allocated.

I was very impressed with Banotek and would recommend them highly for any building project. I have previously worked in the industry myself and also have in more recent times engaged building companies for a number of projects and it is a rare pleasure these days to deal with a company that delivers exactly what they say, within the given time frame and to the quotation.
